These pecans, which come from a tree that grows on friends’ property in New Mexico, are so great looking. Their reddish-browns combined with the dark striations that run lengthwise make them look woody. It’s almost as if they have been carved – I feel like I should wax and polish them. Which led me to the idea of creating wallpaper with them – allergies unaffected – and line a room with them. In the end, I did break out a nutcracker and eat their meat, which was really sweet and fresh.
